Persebaya Surabaya has once again demonstrated its serious commitment to improving the team's professionalism ahead of the upcoming competition season. After completing a series of integrated medical tests with Mayapada Hospital, the club nicknamed Bajul Ijo has now gone a step further by implementing player physical condition mapping based on cutting-edge technology, VALD Performance.
Unlike conventional methods that rely on visual observation, VALD Performance provides precise data that has long been the standard for elite clubs in the English Premier League. The use of this technology in Indonesia is relatively rare, even on a national scale, considering that PSSI has only recently started introducing similar devices in medical workshops this year.
Persebaya CEO, Azrul Ananda, personally inspected the player physical measurement process at the Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium on Thursday (9/7/2026). He emphasized that investing in sports science is a crucial pillar in building a sustainable club foundation, not just chasing short-term results.
"Since last year, we have been gradually equipping our gym infrastructure and investing in sports science devices like VALD Performance through collaboration between the Persebaya Academy and DBL Indonesia," said Azrul. He added that this technology will make it easier for the coaching staff and management to conduct in-depth analyses of players' needs in line with the team's playing philosophy.
Through the implementation of this advanced technology, Persebaya management hopes to set a new standard in team preparation. This effort is believed not only to support the achievement of targets this season but also to strengthen the team's competitiveness and consistent performance in the future.
