Joint forces from the Southeast Sulawesi Regional Police (Polda Sultra) conducted a surprise raid at four nightlife venues in Kendari City. This effort was carried out as a preventive measure to suppress drug abuse and illicit trafficking within the local jurisdiction.
The operation, which took place from Thursday night (23/7/2026) to Friday early hours (24/7/2026), was led directly by the Director of Drug Investigation of Polda Sultra, Police Commissioner Amri Yudhy Syamsualam Rama Wispha. A total of 90 joint personnel were deployed, involving elements from the Drug Investigation Directorate, Patrol Unit, Internal Affairs, Public Relations, Medical and Health Division of Polda Sultra, the Southeast Sulawesi Provincial National Narcotics Agency (BNNP Sultra), and the Army Military Police.
During the raid, officers conducted selective physical examinations, searched belongings, and carried out on-site urine tests. A total of 65 people, consisting of visitors and nightlife venue workers, underwent urine testing. The test results showed that everyone was negative for narcotics, and officers also found no evidence of illicit drugs at the locations.
Police Commissioner Amri Yudhy emphasized that this raid is part of Polda Sultra's commitment to ensure that nightlife venues are not misused as drug trafficking channels. Although the operation yielded zero findings this time, he assured that intensive supervision would continue on an ongoing basis.
This preventive measure is expected to provide a sense of security to the community while protecting the younger generation from the dangers of drug addiction. Polda Sultra is also committed to strengthening cross-institutional synergy with the military and BNNP in maintaining public order in Southeast Sulawesi.
