BANJARBARU – Provincial Secretary (Sekdaprov) of South Kalimantan, M. Syarifuddin, has officially assumed the responsibility as Chairman of the Indonesian Community Sports Commission (KORMI) of South Kalimantan for the 2026–2031 term. The inauguration ceremony of the new management was held solemnly at the Grand Maya Hotel, Banjarbaru, on Saturday (11/7/2026) evening.

The inauguration was presided over directly by the General Chairman of National KORMI, Adil Hakim. This step marks the beginning of a new era of leadership for the organization that oversees various recreational sports governing bodies in South Kalimantan. Based on National KORMI Decree Number 015/SK/KORMINAS/VII/2026, Syarifuddin was inaugurated alongside 80 other board members who will strengthen the organization's operations over the next five years.

Under this new leadership, KORMI South Kalimantan has a major mission to revitalize sports culture among the public while integrating it with sport tourism programs. This strategic step is expected not only to improve the physical fitness of Banua residents but also to boost the local tourism sector through hosting various regional and national recreational sports events.
