Entering the new 2026/2027 academic year, Public Elementary School (SDN) 83 Lebong, Bengkulu Province, has taken concrete steps to support children's education by distributing free sports uniforms to 22 new students. This policy was adopted as a form of care by the school to ease the financial burden on parents at the beginning of the school year.
The Principal of SDN 83 Lebong, Welly Suharsih, S.Pd., explained that the procurement of free sports uniforms was allocated from the School Operational Assistance (BOS) funds. This program aims to ensure that every new student has proper sports gear starting from their first day of school. According to Welly, uniform costs often become an added burden for parents when the new academic year begins.
"Through this initiative, we hope to provide tangible support so that children can learn comfortably without being burdened by school equipment issues," Welly said during a statement on Tuesday (7/21/2026).
In addition to providing physical assistance, Welly also motivated new students to instill a spirit of learning from an early age. She emphasized that primary education is an important foundation for shaping students' character, discipline, and responsibility. The school hopes that students will not only excel academically but also have good morals, respect teachers, and be devoted to their parents.
