Gunung Jati Regional Hospital (RSD) Cirebon is currently focusing medical treatment on the physical recovery and psychological trauma of Lovanya Evelyn Kautsar. The 6th-grade student of SDN Guntur is a survivor of the fatal traffic accident that occurred on the Gronggong route, Cirebon Regency.
The Head of Medical Services at RSD Gunung Jati, Karto Kenedi, explained that Lovanya's health condition is gradually improving post-surgery. Nevertheless, the hospital has strictly limited visits to maintain the emotional stability of the patient, who is still experiencing severe psychological trauma.
Amputation was inevitably performed by the medical team as an emergency measure to save Lovanya's life. Severe injuries to her limbs were deemed to run the risk of triggering further infection or fatal complications if not treated immediately. This medical step was also approved by the victim's family.
In addition to physical care in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), Lovanya is also regularly accompanied by the hospital's team of psychologists. This psychosocial support is crucial considering that the young girl lost both her parents and her younger sibling in the fatal accident.
All of Lovanya's treatment costs have been fully covered by Jasa Raharja. Moral support and special attention also continue to pour in from various parties, ranging from her family, SDN Guntur, to the Cirebon City Government and the local Education Department.
