The trend of challenging outdoor activities such as trail running, hiking, and diving is increasingly popular. However, these extreme sports demand high awareness of personal physical conditions, such as heart rate fluctuations and hydration levels. Addressing these challenges, Samsung launched the Galaxy Watch Ultra2, a premium smartwatch that not only records activity data but also provides in-depth AI-based health analysis through the Samsung Health ecosystem.
MX Product Marketing Manager of Samsung Electronics Indonesia, Tipe Sultan, explained that outdoor activities not only test physical endurance but also demand a deep understanding of one's own body condition. Through the Galaxy Watch Ultra2, Samsung aims to transform raw biometric data into practical guidance that helps users make the right decisions during workouts, while maintaining optimal fitness.
For trail runners, the device features a Trail Run feature to precisely monitor routes, elevation profiles, and estimated travel times directly from the wrist. The device is also equipped with a Nutrition Alert feature that provides hydration recommendations based on estimated body fluid loss. The watch's robust performance is supported by an 800mAh capacity battery, a responsive Snapdragon Wear Elite processor, and an extra-bright display of up to 5,000 nits for maximum readability under direct sunlight.
For underwater activity enthusiasts, the Galaxy Watch Ultra2 collaborates with Mares to present a Diving feature capable of recording depth, duration, and water temperature directly below the sea surface. Its durability is supported by IP69K military certification, 10 ATM pressure resistance, and the EN13319 standard specialized for divers. In terms of design, this smartwatch comes with a titanium body that is 12 percent thinner and a lighter strap for extreme mobility comfort.
Beyond heavy physical activities, this smartwatch also serves as a daily preventive health assistant. Through AI-based features like Daily Cardio Load and Fitness Index, users can monitor their training load and design personalized fitness targets. Meanwhile, Vitals and Heart Health Score features work to monitor night rest quality and heart health to provide a comprehensive overview of the user's cardiovascular condition.
