The technology sector delivered an impressive performance in the July 7 trading session, recording an index gain of 1.14% to stand at 169 points. This surge was driven by substantial capital inflows into large-cap stocks, which collectively recorded a transaction value of up to 473.3 billion VND.
FPT shares reaffirmed their position as an industry driver with a 0.27% increase and the highest liquidity in the sector, trading over 4.56 million shares. This positive trend was followed by GEE, which jumped 3.61% with a trading volume of 1.56 million units, and DDG, which logged a significant surge of 8.33%.
Although several issuers experienced price corrections, such as ST8 and TTN, the impact on the technology sector index remained relatively controlled. Macroeconomically, this movement aligns with the broader stock market's positive trend, where the benchmark VN-Index gained 0.26% to reach 1,848.25 points, supported by stability in the energy and financial sectors.
On the other hand, foreign investor trading patterns showed distinct dynamics, registering a slight net buy position of 34 billion VND. MCH stock was the primary focus of foreign accumulation with net purchases reaching 164 billion VND, in sharp contrast to VHM and MSN shares, which faced the highest selling pressure during the session.
