State Islamic University (UIN) Prof. K.H. Saifuddin Zuhri (UIN Saizu) Purwokerto continues to expand its collaboration network by partnering with Wijayakusuma Hospital. This strategic step began with the discussion of a draft memorandum of understanding (MoU) focused on improving healthcare services for the academic community and strengthening the pillars of the Tridharma of Higher Education.
The crucial meeting took place in the Guest Room of Vice Rector III of UIN Saizu Purwokerto on Monday (27/7/2026). The discussion was attended by leadership ranks from both parties, including the Vice Rector III for Student Affairs, Alumni, and Cooperation of UIN Saizu, Prof. Sunhaji, and the Head of the Education Installation of Wijayakusuma Hospital, Anton H.
Prof. Sunhaji explained that this partnership does not only focus on medical treatment aspects. The presence of the Faculty of Science and Technology at UIN Saizu, specifically the Informatics and Environmental Science Study Programs, opens up great opportunities for health research collaboration, digitalization of hospital information systems, and community service programs.
Wijayakusuma Hospital welcomed this initiative. Anton emphasized the hospital's readiness to fully support both academic and non-academic programs designed with UIN Saizu, both in providing experts and referral health facilities.
To avoid overlapping functions, the Head of the Business Development Center of UIN Saizu, Dr. Rahmini Hadi, emphasized that basic healthcare services for students and staff will continue to be provided by the campus-owned Isyfina Medika Pratama Clinic. Meanwhile, the cooperation with Wijayakusuma Hospital will focus on advanced referral services using the BPJS Kesehatan (National Health Insurance) facilities or independent schemes without involving direct budget transfers from the university.
The meeting concluded with an agreement to finalize the agreement documents. The Coordinator of the UIN Saizu Public Relations Team, Safrudin Aziz, stated that the discussed draft would be finalized immediately and submitted to the leaders of both institutions before the official signing process takes place.
