Gia Lai Province is preparing to become the center of attention for national technological innovation by being selected as the host for the 8th International Conference and Exhibition on Control and Automation (VCCA-2026). The event, taking place on July 16-18, 2026, at Quy Nhon University, is designed as a concrete implementation of the government's strategic policies regarding the development of science, technology, and digital transformation in Vietnam.
Under the theme "Smart Automation - Strategic Technology of the Digital Era," VCCA-2026 will bring together domestic and international experts, academics, and industry players. The activities include a series of scientific conferences, business forums, and a technology exhibition (AT Expo) that will showcase various cutting-edge automation solutions, from industrial robotics to supporting technologies for the healthcare and agriculture sectors.
In the plenary session, discussions will focus on the development of autonomous robot intelligence, smart factory concepts, and future city ecosystems. Associate Professor Dr. Thai Quang Vinh revealed that this year's primary focus lies on the integration between artificial intelligence, sensor systems, and physical interactions of robots with their environment, which is crucial for advancements in soft robotics technology and autonomous vehicles.
In addition to academic presentations, VCCA-2026 serves as a strategic platform to build global business connections. Around 50 to 70 exhibition booths will facilitate direct dialogue between research institutions and the business community. The organizers are optimistic that this event will generate various Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) covering investment cooperation, research and development, and the expansion of export and import markets for local industry players.
This activity receives full support from various relevant ministries, including the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Ministry of Industry and Trade. By integrating regional OCOP product exhibitions into the event series, VCCA-2026 is expected not only to drive advancements in automation technology but also to sustainably strengthen socio-economic development in the Central and Central Highlands regions.
