PANDEGLANG - Deputy Governor of Banten, Dimyati Natakusumah, urged educators to continuously improve their competence, especially in mastering information technology. This step is considered crucial for teachers to be able to respond to the increasingly complex challenges of education in the current millennial era.
This was stated by Dimyati after providing guidance at the Pandeglang Regency Teacher and Education Personnel Appreciation event held at the Horizon Hotel Pandeglang. According to him, the massive development of technology must be responded to positively by teachers to boost their teaching performance.
Furthermore, Dimyati reminded that in addition to being tech-savvy, teachers also bear a heavy moral responsibility. As figures who are "trusted and emulated", educators are required to always be good role models, both within the school environment and in the wider community.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Pandeglang Regency Education, Youth, and Sports Agency (Disdikpora), Sutoto, explained that this event was attended by 115 participants consisting of teachers and principals from kindergarten, elementary, to junior high school levels. This activity is projected as a selection event to recruit adaptive and transformative educators to represent Pandeglang at the Banten Province level.
One of the participants, Uju Juarsih, who serves as the Principal of TK Pembina Cibaliung Subdistrict, welcomed this event as a space for innovation. Uju is committed to utilizing technology in the daily teaching and learning process without forgetting the local identity, such as reviving the value of "gotong royong" (mutual cooperation) to counter the impact of individualism in the digital era.
