Kendari City now has a new platform for the younger generation after the Youth, Pupil, and Student Association of Kendari City (HIPPMAKOT) was officially declared on Sunday (5/7/2026). The organization is committed to playing a strategic role as a critical partner for the Kendari City Government in monitoring and providing input on the direction of regional development.

General Chairperson of HIPPMAKOT Kendari, Muhammad Dzuljalli Wal Ikhram, emphasized that the organization's main focus is to drive improvements in the quality of education. He highlighted the urgency of equitable access to scholarships for high-achieving students as well as students from underprivileged families. In addition, providing representative student dormitories is a key point to support the development of a more competitive human resource pool in the future.

In addition to educational issues, HIPPMAKOT is also paying close attention to the public health sector. The organization urges the government to be more intensive in handling infectious diseases, such as HIV, Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF), and Tuberculosis (TB). Preventive measures through education and improved early detection are seen as crucial elements requiring more effective policy support.

Dzuljalli added that his organization prioritizes collaboration and constructive dialogue over mere confrontation. He hopes that the Kendari City Government can open up spaces for participation for all elements of society so that every policy made truly addresses public needs.

As an initial step, HIPPMAKOT invites all youth, pupils, and students in Kendari to play an active role by contributing ideas and social analysis. The presence of this organization is expected to create a positive synergy between the government and the younger generation to bring about better progress for Kendari City.
