The GAIKINDO Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2026 witnessed the launch of the iCAR V27, the latest electric SUV model from iCAR Indonesia. Under the Chery Group banner, this eco-friendly vehicle introduces the innovative Golden Range Extended Electric Vehicle (REEV) technology, designed to address range anxiety in electric vehicles.
The presence of the iCAR V27 strengthens the brand's commitment to the country's new energy vehicle market, following its predecessor, the iCAR V23, which is based on a Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV). Marshall Ma, Country Director of iCAR Indonesia, explained that this launch reflects the company's vision to provide dynamic mobility solutions relevant to the real needs of users in Indonesia.
Carrying the aesthetic theme "Classic Never Fades," the iCAR V27 features a rugged, boxy SUV posture that balances retro aura and modernity. This robust vehicle measures 5,045 mm in length, 1,976 mm in width, and 1,894 mm in height, supported by a 2,900 mm wheelbase that guarantees driving stability.
To emphasize its adventurous character, the car's exterior is equipped with 21-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, legendary classic headlights, and a sturdy roof rail. The rear is also equipped with a full-size spare tire to support outdoor activities.
The key performance of the iCAR V27 lies in its Golden REEV technology, which can supply pure electric power for a range of up to 200 kilometers. Thanks to the support of a 1.5T Turbo Range Extender engine with a high thermal efficiency of 45.79 percent, the car's total cumulative driving range can exceed 1,200 kilometers without worrying about running out of power during long journeys.
In terms of powertrain, the Three-Motor True Electric AWD drive system it carries combines a P1 generator with a P3 (front) and P4 (rear) drive motor. This configuration delivers a maximum power of up to 335 kW or equivalent to 455 PS and a peak torque of 505 Nm, allowing acceleration from zero to 100 km/h in just 5.9 seconds. In addition, drivers are pampered with nine driving mode options that can be adjusted for various road terrains.
