The Bogor Regency Government (Pemkab) is currently finalizing plans to reorganize the Gunung Mas Rest Area in the Puncak area, Cisarua District. This reorganization will feature an integration concept with Gunung Mas Agrotourism to boost the destination's appeal while revitalizing the local economy.
Bogor Regency Regional Secretary (Sekda), Ajat Rochmat, explained that this physical integration and visitor flow are designed to provide tourists with a more orderly and structured vacation experience. A one-gate system for entry and exit will be implemented to unite the two destinations.
Under the new scheme currently being prepared, travelers are scheduled to enter through the Gunung Mas Agrotourism gate and be directed out through the Gunung Mas Rest Area. With this single-system scenario, both locations are expected to mutually support visitor occupancy.
In addition to managing the flow of tourist traffic, the Bogor Regency Government is also focusing on improving supporting facilities within the rest area. The improvement plans include building a sectoral police station (Polsek) at the front of the area and upgrading public sanitation facilities, such as toilets, to make them more representative.
Ajat added that this revitalization is targeted to transform the image of the Gunung Mas Rest Area from a mere temporary stopover into a hub for public activities. In the future, this space is projected to host various community events that can attract more tourists to the Puncak area.
