A distressing condition has befallen Suriah (37), a young mother from Mertasinga Village, Gunung Jati District, Cirebon Regency. For six months, she has been lying helpless due to paralysis that struck both of her legs in early 2026.
Suriah's health issues began last January when she suddenly felt severe pain in her legs. Despite undergoing intensive treatment at Gunung Jati Regional Hospital and Mitra Plumbon Hospital, her physical condition continued to deteriorate until she was finally unable to walk since April 2026. Doctors suspect the paralysis is related to the patient's history of hypertension.
Suriah's husband, Tito, revealed that they have made every effort, including trying alternative medical treatments. However, the various therapies undergone have yet to yield positive results. The economic burden is pressing harder on the family, as all their savings have been depleted to cover treatment costs reaching tens of millions of rupiah over the past six months.
Currently, Suriah's family is at a financial rock bottom and admits to having difficulty continuing more comprehensive medical treatment. In this urgent situation, Tito hopes for intervention from the local government and relevant agencies so that his wife can gain access to proper medical care to recover.
Great hope is also placed in donors who are moved to provide social assistance. The family eagerly awaits support from various parties so that Suriah receives proper care before her condition worsens further.
