PT Bangun Banua Kalimantan Selatan (Kalsel) is stepping on the gas to prepare a series of new business expansions to strengthen its contribution to the Regional Genuine Income (PAD). This Regional Government-Owned Enterprise (BUMD) is targeting promising prospects through business diversification, including automotive maintenance services, property asset optimization, and the provision of healthcare facilities.
This strategic plan was presented directly by the management of PT Bangun Banua during a hearing (RDP) with Commission II of the Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) of South Kalimantan Province in Banjarmasin. This progressive step was taken following the positive trend of the company's financial performance in recent years.
President Director of PT Bangun Banua Kalsel, H. Afrizaldi, revealed that the company's net profit as of June 2026 had exceeded nearly Rp17 billion. This achievement surpassed the initial target for the year of Rp15 billion. This significant profit growth is directly proportional to the dividend contribution to the regional treasury, which jumped from Rp5 billion in the 2024 fiscal year to Rp8.1... billion, and has now reached Rp9.1... billion as of mid-2026.
As the driving force for expansion in 2027, the company is maximizing the role of its subsidiary, Nusa Bangun Banua. One of the business units that has started operating is a maintenance workshop for official vehicles of the South Kalimantan Provincial Government's Regional Apparatus Work Units (SKPD) located at Jalan A. Yani Km 28, Banjarbaru. In addition to providing 24-hour emergency services, the workshop's operations collaborate with local automotive MSMEs to stimulate the local economy.
Not only in the automotive sector, but the management is also conducting a thorough evaluation of assets deemed inefficient, such as the Batung Batulis Hotel in Banjarbaru, whose operations have now been temporarily suspended. In its place, the hotel land is planned to be converted into padel sports facilities and a cafe, with an estimated investment of Rp5 billion.
Looking at other market potentials, PT Bangun Banua is also preparing to enter the health sector by supplying medical oxygen and medical equipment needs for regional hospitals and Regional Public Service Agencies (BLUD) in South Kalimantan. Afrizaldi is optimistic that this measured diversification will provide long-term added value for the economy of Bumi Lambung Mangkurat.
