The operational activities of a tofu factory located in Pondok Petir Village, Bojongsari District, Depok City, have recently come under sharp scrutiny from the local community. The existence of the home industry has been called into question due to strong suspicions that the management has not yet obtained all the permits required by the local government.
Residents' concerns are fueled by the lack of transparency regarding the legality of the factory's business. Residents hope that the authorities will promptly conduct a review to provide legal certainty regarding the factory's operations, considering the environmental impact as well as the spatial planning regulations that every business actor must comply with.
In an effort to confirm the matter, the editorial team attempted to contact the person in charge of the factory, identified as Ajis, via a WhatsApp text message. Questions regarding the status of the business permit and other supporting documents were submitted to allow the management space to provide clarification.
As of now, the management has not provided any official response or explanation regarding these allegations. The public hopes that relevant agencies, such as the Investment and Integrated One-Stop Services Office (DPMPTSP) of Depok City, will step in immediately to address these concerns for the sake of regional order.
