During the 2020–2025 period, the Union of Associations in Dong Thap Province achieved significant milestones across three main pillars: knowledge dissemination, the development of science and technology, and the strengthening of consultation and social critique functions. The organization actively serves as a bridge between the government and the intellectual community, ensuring public policies receive data-driven and scientific input.
In the field of innovation, various competitions successfully attracted thousands of participants, ranging from youth to technology practitioners. Proud achievements were also recorded at the international level, such as winning a silver medal at the International Exhibition for Young Inventors (IEYI) in Japan for an innovative lotus seed peeling machine. In addition, 62 outstanding intellectuals received awards in recognition of their tangible contributions to regional economic development.
Despite these solid achievements, challenges related to limited funding resources and quality disparities among member associations remain to be addressed. Comrade Nguyen Thanh Hien acknowledged that organizational restructuring demands more adaptive and efficient operational methods to meet the challenges of an increasingly competitive era.
Facing the 2026–2031 period, the Union of Associations has prepared six strategic steps, focusing primarily on digital transformation and strengthening the innovation ecosystem. This strategy includes streamlining the organizational structure, establishing a comprehensive expert database, and optimizing cross-sector collaboration among academia, business, and government to ensure research results can be directly implemented in society.
These measures are expected to position the Union of Associations as an inclusive intellectual hub that not only values talented young minds but also fosters a dynamic academic environment. Through this synergy, sustainable regional development can hopefully be achieved with the full support of scientific mastery, technology, and innovation in a new era.
