In the midst of the automotive industry dynamics increasingly shifting toward electrification, GAC Aion highlights its research and development (R&D) strength as the backbone of its business. With nearly three decades of experience, this Chinese automotive company continues to mature its engineering capabilities and sustainable innovation to deliver competitive new energy vehicles to the global market.

GAC's commitment to innovation is proven through a significant allocation of R&D funds. Throughout 2025, the company channeled RMB7.71 billion or approximately 7.98% of its total revenue into advanced technology development. This investment covers various breakthroughs, ranging from *all-solid-state* battery technology to autonomous steering systems and progressive air mobility concepts.

The company's innovation strategy is implemented through the "1+5+X" global research system, which integrates development centers in various major cities around the world, such as Guangzhou, Silicon Valley, and Milan. This cross-border collaboration has produced several core technologies, such as the AEP platform for electric vehicles, the Magazine battery safety system, and the ADiGO architecture designed to enhance a smart and safe driving experience.

The success of this approach is reflected in its impressive sales performance. Until May 2026, GAC Group recorded cumulative sales reaching over 628,200 units globally. This figure is proof that the innovations developed by GAC are capable of meeting market needs in 102 countries with differing consumer characteristics.

For the Indonesian market, GAC adopts an "In Local, For Local" strategy to ensure their global technology standards remain relevant to local preferences. CEO of GAC Indonesia, Andry Ciu, emphasized that the company does not only focus on product sales, but also on building an ecosystem that includes local assembly, increasing Domestic Component Level (TKDN) values, and strengthening the after-sales network to support the national electric vehicle transformation.
