The South Kalimantan Domino Sports Organization (ORADO) has now officially become part of the extended family of the National Sports Committee of Indonesia (KONI) South Kalimantan. This strategic decision was made during the KONI South Kalimantan Provincial Conference held in Banjarmasin on Saturday (04/07/26), marking official recognition of dominoes as a recognized regional sport.

Chairman of the South Kalimantan ORADO Provincial Board, Muhammad Rizwan Arifin, stated that this membership status is a crucial stepping stone to transform dominoes from a mere hobby into a competitive sport. This legality opens doors for ORADO to actively participate in official sporting agendas under the auspices of KONI.

Currently, the organization's main priority is to finalize the establishment of management boards across 13 regencies and cities in South Kalimantan. Rizwan mentioned that the process of forming regional structures now leaves only three areas currently completing administrative requirements and board compositions.

Alongside organizational restructuring, South Kalimantan ORADO is committed to launching tiered tournaments to foster talent. This initiative aims to recruit potential athletes who can later bring honor to the region in higher-level competitions.

As a long-term goal, South Kalimantan ORADO aims to participate in the Provincial Sports Week (Porprov) scheduled to take place in Hulu Sungai Utara in 2029. This effort is accompanied by instructions for all regional administrators to immediately integrate into their respective regency and city KONI chapters.
