PCNU Pekalongan Urges PMII Cadres to Integrate Science and Technology with Aswaja Values

The Chairman of PCNU Pekalongan reminded PMII cadres to firmly uphold Aswaja values amid technological advancements to foster an intellectual generation with character.

The Chairman of the Branch Executive Board of Nahdlatul Ulama (PCNU) Pekalongan Regency, KH Muslih Khudlori, reminded all cadres of the Indonesian Islamic Student Movement (PMII) of the importance of maintaining their identity. He emphasized that the direction of PMII's struggle must remain firmly grounded in the values of Ahlussunnah wal Jamaah (Aswaja), even amid the rapid tide of modernization.

This statement was delivered during the opening of the 5th Commissariat Annual Meeting (RTK V) of the PMII Commissariat at the Nahdlatul Ulama Institute of Technology and Science (ITSNU) Pekalongan, held in the Hall of Building A, ITSNU Pekalongan, on Monday (20/7/2026). The annual forum, carrying the theme "Fundamenta Altis," serves as a strategic platform to evaluate performance while charting the future policy direction of the organization.

According to Kiai Muslih, the increasingly rapid developments in science and technology require PMII cadres to be adaptive. However, strong academic capacity in science and technology should not cause them to forget the Islamic and national foundations that form the pillars of the movement.

"ITSNU Pekalongan has a strong academic climate in the science and technology sector. PMII must be present within this atmosphere to produce young intellectuals who are academically resilient without forgetting Aswaja values as a compass in thinking and acting," said KH Muslih Khudlori.

Furthermore, he also reminded students to carefully manage their time between lectures and organizational activities. According to him, harmony between these two worlds will shape student leadership that is mature in spiritual, intellectual, and social aspects.

Echoing these sentiments, the Chairman of PMII Pekalongan Branch, Ahmad Nur Khozin, affirmed his cadres' readiness to answer the challenges of the era through technological mastery accompanied by ideological strengthening. The event was also attended by ITSNU Pekalongan rectorate representative Husni Hidayat and Commissariat Advisory Board member Mafturrahman, who together praised the running of the student democracy forum.
