The Gunung Mas Regency Government, in collaboration with the local PKK Mobilization Team (TP PKK), organized a series of free healthcare service programs coupled with the Cheap Food Movement (GPM). This strategic step was implemented across several districts to improve the community's quality of life while easing the economic burden on households due to fluctuations in basic food prices.
During the implementation, residents gained access to comprehensive health screenings, ranging from general health check-ups, tuberculosis (TB) screening, IVA/SADANIS examinations, to the early detection of cervical cancer through HPV DNA tests. This program is designed as an outreach service to ensure preventive healthcare facilities reach remote areas.
The Regent of Gunung Mas, Jaya S. Monong, emphasized that this cross-sectoral activity is a concrete realization of the "Healthy Tambun Bungai" Program. He stressed the importance of health awareness so that residents can remain productive and maintain good mental health.
Regarding the food program, Regent Jaya mentioned that the Cheap Food Movement plays an important role as an instrument to control regional inflation. This market intervention is expected to balance prices so that low-income communities are not overly burdened by the rising cost of basic commodities in the market.
Meanwhile, the Chairperson of the Gunung Mas Regency TP PKK, Mimie Mariatie, expressed appreciation for the synergy established with the Health Office as well as the Fisheries and Food Security Office. She explained that this health screening campaign prioritizes preventive principles to curb disease rates early on, while supporting the national priority agenda of the "Asta Cita" Program.
This series of integrated activities has targeted various locations, including Luwuk Langkuas Village in Rungan, Sumur Mas Village in Tewah, Tumbang Mahuroi Village in Damang Batu, and Tumbang Tambirah Village in Kurun. In addition to medical services and cheap food, the local regency government also included a spiritual reinforcement agenda through a Christian Revival Service (KKR) for local residents.
