The Provincial Government of Central Kalimantan has once again demonstrated its commitment to the community by organizing the Cheap Market Movement (GPM) and free health checks at the H. M. Sanusi Stadium, Pulang Pisau, on Saturday (11/7/2026). This activity was one of the main agendas in the celebration of the 24th anniversary of Pulang Pisau Regency.
The event was officially opened by the Governor of Central Kalimantan, Agustiar Sabran, accompanied by Deputy Governor Edy Pratowo. The presence of the regional leaders was warmly welcomed by the Regent of Pulang Pisau, Ahmad Rifa’i, who appreciated the provincial government's concrete steps in providing access to affordable basic necessities while facilitating basic medical needs for local residents.
Governor Agustiar Sabran explained that the cheap market program this time was prioritized for vulnerable groups, including civil servants of classes I and II, government employees with work agreements (PPPK), sanitation workers, laborers, and underprivileged residents. Through a 30 percent subsidy scheme from the provincial government, the public can obtain food commodities at prices much more competitive than market rates.
On the other hand, Deputy Governor Edy Pratowo emphasized the importance of synergy with the Prosperous Huma Betang Card (KHBS) program. According to him, this initiative does not stop at food assistance, but covers a wider scope including the education, social protection, and health sectors as an ongoing effort to improve the welfare of the people in Central Kalimantan.
