PT Pelayaran Nasional Indonesia (Pelni) Nabire Branch has officially released the passenger ship operational schedule for the August 2026 period. This announcement serves as an important guide for the mobility of the community in the Nabire region and its surroundings, especially those relying on inter-island sea transportation.
In the latest schedule release, there is a significant change regarding fleet availability. KM Gunung Dempo is reportedly still undergoing periodic maintenance or docking. Due to this maintenance, the ship cannot yet serve shipping activities to and from Samabusa Port, Nabire, until the repair process is completed.
In addition to the suspension of KM Gunung Dempo, KM Dorolonda is also experiencing a route change. For August 2026, this fleet is confirmed to be absent from the list of ships calling at Nabire Port. Prospective passengers planning to use the ship's services are expected to adjust their schedules or choose available alternative fleets.
Pelni urges the public to keep updating departure information and purchase tickets through official channels to avoid ticket scalpers and crowding at the port. Samabusa Port in Nabire is confirmed to remain operational, serving other Pelni ships included in this month's regular schedule.
