The Regional Water Utility Company (Perumdam) Tirta Kencana of Samarinda City urges customers in the Samarinda Seberang area and its surroundings to immediately store clean water. This appeal was issued following routine maintenance plans to drain the sedimentation and settling basins at the Gunung Lipan Water Treatment Plant (WTP) tomorrow, Tuesday (28/7/2026).
The maintenance process of this vital infrastructure is scheduled to begin at 08:00 WITA with an estimated working time of about 10 hours. This periodic cleaning is carried out to remove silt deposits and other residual materials that could reduce the quality of clean water distributed to the community.
Public Relations Staff of Perumdam Tirta Kencana, Taufik, explained that this technical step is crucial to maintain the reliability of the water treatment system so that it continues to operate optimally. During the work, the clean water supply in several areas will certainly experience reduced pressure or temporary suspension of flow.
Some areas expected to be affected by this disruption include Harapan Baru Sub-district, Tani Aman, Cipto Mangunkusumo Street, Bung Tomo Street, H.A.M.M. Rifaddin Street, KH Harun Nafsi Street, Barito Street, APT Pranoto Street, and RE Martadinata Street. Perumdam ensures that the clean water distribution will be gradually normalized once the entire maintenance work is completed.
