PT Timah (Persero) Tbk organized a free health check-up program for the community in Sungailiat, Bangka Regency, on Monday (27/7/2026). This social activity, which successfully served 154 residents, is part of the Bulan Bakti (Service Month) series commemorating the state-owned enterprise's (BUMN) 50th anniversary, carrying the theme 'Timah for the People'.

Through this initiative, local residents gained access to direct consultations with medical teams, basic physical examinations, and free medicine based on doctors' diagnoses. This mobile healthcare service brought relief to the community, particularly in reducing the distance and travel costs to main health facilities.

Yurni (61), one of the residents in attendance, expressed her gratitude for the program. Often complaining of numbness in her hand joints, she felt highly assisted because, in addition to receiving a free check-up, she also obtained the necessary vitamins and medicines without having to queue for a long time at the hospital.

Echoing Yurni, Parinem (65), a family member of a PT Timah retiree, appreciated the friendliness of the medical staff. She felt more reassured after checking her blood pressure and cholesterol levels, and receiving direct education on a healthy lifestyle from the duty doctor.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Bangka Regency Health Office, Nora Sukma Dewi, highly appreciated PT Timah's concrete actions. According to her, this collaboration between the private sector and the government is an important pillar in accelerating the achievement of health development targets at both local and national levels.

Nora hopes that similar synergy can be maintained and expanded in the future. For her, the continuous commitment of corporations like PT Timah is crucial in supporting the overall improvement of public welfare and health standards.
