The spirit of an active lifestyle swept through the Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology (ITS) campus in Surabaya on Sunday (12/7/2026). To commemorate its 58th anniversary, BPJS Kesehatan held a 5.8-kilometer fun run attended by around 750 participants from various backgrounds, including students, media members, and participants of the Chronic Disease Management Program (Prolanis).
The President Director of BPJS Kesehatan, Prihati Pujowaskito, emphasized that the momentum of this 58th anniversary is not just a ceremonial celebration, but a call for the public to prioritize the principle of mutual cooperation (gotong royong) in maintaining the sustainability of the National Health Insurance (JKN) Program. According to Pujowaskito, maintaining one's own health is a concrete contribution to ensuring the health insurance system remains strong.
Pujowaskito highlighted the rising trend of chronic diseases, such as diabetes and hypertension, which are now beginning to target the youth. Therefore, the director urged the public to get into the habit of exercising at least three to four times a week. For Pujowaskito, investing in health through consistent physical activity is far more valuable than bearing the burden of medical treatment in the future.
ITS Rector, Prof. Bambang Pramujati, welcomed this collaboration as a strategic step in internalizing a healthy culture within the academic environment. He hopes the spirit of togetherness built in this event can trigger sustainable awareness for the entire ITS academic community in adopting a fitter and more productive lifestyle.
