UIN Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung continues to demonstrate its commitment to expanding its academic reach on the global stage. This concrete step is realized through exploring strategic cooperation between the Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training (FTK) and the Faculty of Psychology with Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM).

The meeting, which took place in the LP2M Hall of UIN Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung on Friday (10/7/2026), became an important momentum in designing cross-border collaboration. Vice Rector I for Academic and Institutional Affairs, Prof. Dr. H. Dadan Rusmana, M.Ag., stated that this synergy is part of the university's grand vision to achieve international recognition, particularly in the ASEAN region.

The main focus of this collaboration includes the development of dual degree programs, collaborative research, as well as faculty and student exchanges. For the Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training, this collaboration is expected to improve the quality of educational governance and learning innovation. Meanwhile, the Faculty of Psychology sees this partnership as a golden opportunity to strengthen the faculty's existence, especially with support for international research and community service.

The delegation from UUM, led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mohamad Khairi Othman and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Md. Zawawi Abu Bakar, warmly welcomed this initiative. In addition to discussing academic aspects, UUM also opened postgraduate scholarship opportunities for UIN Bandung students, complete with a language mentoring program to facilitate the study adaptation process.

A positive response came directly from the students. After the discussion session, dozens of students from both faculties showed high enthusiasm by registering for various international programs, including international community service and student exchange. The university is currently finalizing the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) so that all planned programs can be implemented in the near future.
