The governments of Indonesia and India have officially strengthened their bilateral partnership in the energy and strategic industry sectors. President Prabowo Subianto emphasized that both countries have agreed to accelerate the development of solar power plants (PLTS) and conduct technology exchanges to increase national nuclear energy utilization capacity.
This step was taken in response to global geopolitical dynamics that demand stronger energy independence. Through this collaboration, Indonesia hopes to adopt India's technological expertise in optimizing sustainable alternative energy sources, while simultaneously strengthening the nation's electrical infrastructure.
On the other hand, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted the importance of integrating critical mineral supply chains and the steel sector between the two countries. This cooperation was marked by the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Non-Ferrous Materials Technology Development Centre, MIDWEST Ltd, and PT Perusahaan Mineral Nasional (Perminas).
This partnership is expected not only to impact the energy sector, but also to add value to the domestic mineral processing industry. This synergy is projected to become a new foundation for more stable and collaborative economic growth between Jakarta and New Delhi in the future.
