PT Bumi Resources Tbk (BUMI) continues to demonstrate its commitment to business transformation through operational development at its subsidiary, Wolfram Limited. Through the Mt. Carlton mine project located in Queensland, Australia, the company has now commenced underground mining activities in the A39 area, targeting high-grade ore production.
This progress is ahead of the previously set schedule, while also serving as a continuation of the V2 open-pit mine operations that have been running since April 2026. Supported by a seven-year long-term sales agreement with Glencore, the company ensures stable marketing visibility for the gold, silver, and copper commodities produced.
Panin Sekuritas analyst, Cliff Nathaniel, highlighted this move as a strategic turning point for BUMI. According to him, transitioning from dependence on the coal sector towards a more diverse metal portfolio is a crucial step to strengthen the company's fundamentals amidst global commodity price fluctuations.
The successful execution of this underground project is projected to significantly increase the company's operational efficiency and profitability. With a more balanced revenue structure, BUMI is expected to build better financial resilience and more sustainable long-term growth in the future.
