Universitas Airlangga Hospital (RS UNAIR) has officially turned 15 years old. As a celebration of its contribution to education and healthcare, the hospital held a mass sports event titled RS UNAIR RUNniversary in the courtyard of the MERR-C Campus Rectorate Building on Sunday (5/7/2026).

The event received a warm response from various groups, drawing up to 900 participants, including the academic community, resident physicians (PPDS), and the general public. The Director of RS UNAIR, Dr. Muhammad Ardian CL, dr., Sp.OG., Subsp. Obginsos, M.Kes., officially flagged off the runners while expressing his appreciation for the dedication of all parties who built RS UNAIR into what it is today.

In his speech, Ardian emphasized that reaching the 15-year milestone is not merely a celebration, but a symbol of maturity to keep moving forward. He stressed that RS UNAIR is currently focused on internal improvements and modernizing medical equipment infrastructure to support superior quality of healthcare services.

Going forward, RS UNAIR is committed to supporting national priority programs, particularly in handling Cancer, Heart disease, Stroke, Uronephrology (KJSU), as well as Maternal and Child Health (MCH) services. The hospital's main focus is to become a qualified medical education institution for doctors and medical students.

The Event General Chair, Dr. Wiwin Is Efendy, dr., Sp.P(K), Ph.D., explained that running was chosen because the sport is currently very popular among the general public, making this anniversary celebration feel fresher. The event was divided into two categories: 3K for the fun run category and 5K for the competitive race, which featured competitive runners with the fastest finish time reaching 16 minutes.
