The National Narcotics Agency of South Sumatra Province (BNNP Sumsel) launched a sudden raid on two nightlife venues in Palembang City in the early hours of Sunday (26/7). The operation, which began around 01.00 WIB, managed to apprehend six visitors who tested positive for consuming narcotics after undergoing on-site urine tests.
The Head of the Eradication Division of South Sumatra BNNP, Police Grand Commissioner (Kombes Pol) Basani R Sagala, directly led the operation. The officers' first target was the "For Good Luck" entertainment venue located in Ilir Timur (IT) II District, Palembang. Out of a total of 29 visitors who underwent urine testing at this location, one man and one woman tested positive for drugs.
Officers then moved to the second location, the "Gen-Z Party Area," also situated in the IT II District area. At this venue, urine tests were conducted on 51 visitors. As a result, officers detained four other individuals consisting of three men and one woman for testing positive for consuming illicit substances.
Police Grand Commissioner Basani explained that this raid was conducted under the instruction of the Head of South Sumatra BNNP, Police Brigadier General (Brigjen Pol) Hisar Siallagan, as part of law enforcement following World Drug Day (HANI) 2026. All visitors caught in the raid were immediately handed over to the Rehabilitation Division of South Sumatra BNNP to undergo medical assessment and further rehabilitation processes.
