A number of universities in Banten demonstrated their capabilities by showcasing various cutting-edge technological innovations at the Banten Tech Festival 2026. The event, initiated by Paguyuban Pasundan, was held at Tangerang Raya University (Untara), Tigaraksa, Tangerang Regency, on Friday (24/7/2026) with a focus on preparing human resources to face the challenges of artificial intelligence (AI).
Carrying the theme "Banten Tech Festival: Explore Innovation, Showcase Technology and Compete for the Future", this event featured a variety of technological breakthroughs. Ranging from Internet of Things (IoT) devices and artificial intelligence systems to technological engineering in the eco-friendly agricultural sector, all were showcased by the students.
The Vice Governor of Banten, Achmad Dimyati Natakusumah, who attended the event, emphasized the importance of mastering digital technology. According to him, future competition will no longer be between humans, but rather direct competition with robot automation, artificial intelligence, and massive digitalization across various sectors.
Several student works that attracted attention included the IoT Sensor Spy technology and Virtual Reality (VR) simulations created by Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University (Untirta). In addition, the Indonesian Insan Pembangunan University (UINPI) presented the Hydrify Smart Watering System and GovTech DataOps. Meanwhile, the host Untara displayed an information technology-based Soil Moisture Monitoring System.
Untara Rector, Mardiyana, emphasized that higher education institutions bear a great responsibility to produce tech-literate graduates. This step is crucial considering that Tangerang Regency is a major industrial area that requires a supply of local workers with high digital competence.
Echoing this sentiment, Tangerang Regent Mochamad Maesyal Rasyid hoped that these technological innovations could be applied directly in daily life. Synergistic collaboration between academia, government, and industry is expected to accelerate technology adaptation to increase the productivity of the local community.
