The board of the Indonesian Shooting Association (Perbakin) of Tanah Datar Regency has taken a strategic step by establishing intensive coordination with the Commander of the Military District Command (Dandim) 0307/Tanah Datar. The meeting, which took place in the Dandim's office, was an important milestone in efforts to advance the sport of shooting in the Luhak Nan Tuo region, while also refining athlete preparations ahead of the West Sumatra Provincial Sports Week (Porprov) in October 2026.
The Daily Chairman of Perbakin Tanah Datar, Yusri Yance, accompanied by Public Relations Head Koko Priemajaya, was present to discuss the athlete development roadmap. During the meeting, the Dandim of 0307/Tanah Datar, Lieutenant Colonel (Artillery) Hendriyana, expressed his full commitment to supporting Perbakin's initiatives. The Kodim is ready to synergize, especially in scouting new talents who will later be prepared to represent Tanah Datar at the provincial level.
Yusri Yance emphasized that this step is part of a grand vision to revive the passion for the sport of shooting, which had previously been inactive. He hopes that this cross-agency collaboration will not only improve athlete achievements but also popularize the sport of shooting so that it becomes more widely known by the residents of Tanah Datar.
Echoing these sentiments, Koko Priemajaya added that the organization is currently focusing on improving governance and training support facilities. With full support from the military, Perbakin Tanah Datar is optimistic that the athletes' preparations will be more structured and they will be able to compete maximally to win medals at the upcoming Porprov event.
