Member of the Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) of Kotabaru Regency, H Abdul Kadir, held the second phase of aspiration gathering or recess in Gunung Ulin Village, Pulau Laut Utara District. The agenda, which took place on Friday (24/7), served as an open dialogue space for local residents to directly voice various complaints and development proposals.
During the warm meeting, which was attended by village apparatus, community leaders, religious figures, and local youth, basic infrastructure issues dominated the discussion. A representative from RT 5 complained about the lack of adequate electricity poles and the condition of crossing cables, which are feared to pose a safety hazard to residents.
In addition to electricity issues, the need for clean water was also in the spotlight. The head of RT 4 proposed the rejuvenation of the clean water piping system to ensure a smooth water supply for residents. On the same occasion, residents also hoped for assistance to complete the construction of the Miftahul Jannah Musholla, which has not yet been finished.
The basic social services sector also received attention. A representative from PAUD Al Azhar (early childhood education) submitted a request for office administrative support facilities to ensure smooth teaching and learning activities. Meanwhile, local posyandu (integrated healthcare center) cadres voiced the importance of upgrading medical equipment to support maternal and child health services in the village.
Responding to these various proposals, H Abdul Kadir emphasized that the recess activity is a constitutional obligation for every legislative member to listen directly to the needs of their constituents. He committed to bringing all these aspirations to parliament and fighting for them in discussions on development programs with the regional government, naturally adjusting to priority scales and available regional budget capacity.
