PT Indosat Tbk (ISAT) shows an interesting performance dynamic in early 2026. Recent data shows a decrease in prepaid subscribers from 94 million last year to 92 million in the first quarter of this year. Meanwhile, the company's postpaid subscriber base remained stable at 2 million users.

Although prepaid subscriber numbers shrank, capital market analysts view this condition not as a reflection of weakening market demand. On the contrary, the decline is part of the company's strategic move focusing on improving customer base quality for long-term profitability.

Managing Director of Research at Samuel Sekuritas Indonesia, Harry Su, projects that Indosat's performance outlook remains bright through the end of 2026. This optimism is driven by several key catalysts, such as consistent data consumption growth and the company's success in increasing Average Revenue Per User (ARPU).

In addition to revenue factors, operational efficiency and asset monetization steps through the FiberCo entity are believed to become a new growth engine for the telecommunications issuer. With this combination of strategies, Indosat is predicted to maintain its competitiveness amidst fierce competition in the national telecommunications industry.
