The Sidenreng Rappang (Sidrap) Regency Government successfully organized an international health seminar themed "Latest Updates on Cancer Treatment: Early Detection, Modern Treatment, Better Survival" at the Saromase Hall on Sunday (5/7/2026). This event served as a strategic educational platform, bringing together over 500 participants from various backgrounds, including medical personnel, academics, and the general public.
The collaboration initiated by the Sidrap Regency Government with the PKK Mobilization Team and Kawan Sehat Malaysia presented two expert speakers: Obstetrics and Gynecology Consultant, Dr. Nur Hafizah Amom, and Clinical Oncology Consultant, Dr. Ina Shaliny. Both speakers detailed the development of cutting-edge treatment technologies and the urgency of early detection in increasing survival rates for cancer patients.
The Chairwoman of the Sidrap Regency PKK Mobilization Team, Hj. Haslindah Syaharuddin, emphasized that this event was a crucial momentum to broaden public understanding of the importance of regular health check-ups. According to her, consistent education is key to enabling the community, especially women, to recognize cancer symptoms early in order to receive more effective medical treatment.
The collaborative spirit of this seminar was further strengthened by the presence of representatives from the PKK Mobilization Teams of neighboring regions, such as Parepare City, and Pinrang, Enrekang, and Wajo Regencies. This cross-regional participation is clear evidence of a collective commitment to building synergy between the government, community organizations, and the health sector to achieve better health standards.
