JEPARA – As a concrete effort to instill clean and healthy living habits from an early age, SD Muhammadiyah Kriyan organized an oral and dental health education activity on Friday (31/7/2026). Located at the Taqwa Kriyan Mosque Hall, the interactively packaged event targeted hundreds of grade 1 and 2 students of the elementary school.
The activity, themed "Sport and Cleanliness Day", featured dentist Dr. Silma Nurul Azkia from Essem Dental Care Clinic as the main speaker. With a child-friendly approach, Dr. Silma explained the importance of maintaining oral hygiene, choosing tooth-friendly food intake, and shared practical tips for preventing cavities.
Setelah menerima pemaparan materi, para siswa diajak langsung turun ke halaman sekolah untuk melakukan praktik menyikat gigi bersama. Didampingi oleh tim medis secara intensif, anak-anak mempraktikkan teknik menyikat gigi yang benar dengan penuh semangat menggunakan sikat gigi masing-masing.
Through this educational program, the school hopes to foster independent awareness in children about the importance of dental care. This is because prime oral health conditions are believed to greatly influence students' comfort in learning while also boosting their daily confidence.
