PEKANBARU - The Arifin Achmad Regional General Hospital (RSUD) of Riau Province is preparing to strengthen its medical service line by opening recruitment for 94 new healthcare workers in August 2026. This strategic step was taken to respond to the surge in the number of patients coming for treatment at the regional government-owned referral hospital.
Director of RSUD Arifin Achmad Riau, Dr. Yusi Prastiningsih, revealed that the addition of medical personnel has now become a very urgent need. Although inpatient room capacity remains adequate, the lack of medical staff on the ground has triggered service queues in several treatment units.
"Currently, RSUD Arifin Achmad operates 505 beds. The high rate of patient visits makes it imperative for us to immediately add healthcare workers to support operational smoothness and maintain service quality," said Yusi in her statement on Saturday (1/8/2026).
To ensure the selection process is clean and accountable, the hospital management is collaborating with the National Civil Service Agency (BKN). All stages of participant screening will use the Computer Assisted Test (CAT) system. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with BKN has been agreed upon to ensure the success of this program.
Yusi explained that the opened formations include nurse positions as well as various other health support professions. The official announcement regarding the detailed requirements and registration procedures will be published soon this month so that the absorption of new workers can proceed quickly.
The management of RSUD Arifin Achmad also apologized to the public for the inconvenience regarding the queue waiting times that have occurred recently. Through the addition of these healthcare workers, the hospital is committed to continuing to cut patient waiting times and provide more optimal health services.
