The Banda Aceh City Government continues to boost economic growth by expanding business networks. This step is realized through active participation in the Business and Investment Forum held on the sidelines of the XVIII National Working Meeting (Rakernas) of the Association of Indonesian Municipalities (APEKSI) 2026 in Medan, Thursday (2/7/2026).
The Head of the Banda Aceh City Investment and One-Stop Integrated Services Agency (DPMPTSP), M. Ichsan, attended the event in person to absorb investment ecosystem development strategies. The forum, which adopted the 'Ice-Business Meeting and Matching' concept, served as a strategic platform for heads of investment agencies across Indonesia to share insights with experts, international partners, and media practitioners.
During the forum, business development expert Fajar Informanto highlighted a paradigm shift where regions must now be able to create an attractive ecosystem so that investors come on their own, rather than the other way around. This material became an important reference for the Banda Aceh delegation in formulating tactical steps to increase regional attractiveness in the eyes of investors.
In addition to discussing domestic strategies, the forum also facilitated discussions on trade collaboration opportunities with the Government of Catalonia, Spain. This meeting was not only an information exchange event, but also momentum for Banda Aceh to expand the reach of investment promotion through partnerships with research institutions and national-scale media.
M. Ichsan emphasized that the experience and insights gained from this forum would be valuable assets for the development of Banda Aceh City. He hopes that through the synergy built with both national and international partners, the city government can bring new, sustainable economic opportunities that have a significant impact on community welfare.
