The Jayapura Regency Government, through the Family Welfare Empowerment Mobilization Team (TP-PKK), is taking proactive steps to improve public health standards. On Friday (24/7/2026), TP-PKK held a free health check program and assistance for pregnant women at the West Sentani District Office, which was enthusiastically attended by around 150 local residents.

Chairperson of the Jayapura Regency TP-PKK, Mrs. Dewi Sartika Wonda, S.Par., explained that this proactive initiative is a tangible form of the organization's commitment to bringing medical service access closer to the wider community, especially vulnerable groups. She emphasized the importance of preventive education so that the public has a high awareness to check their physical condition regularly before falling ill.

In addition to providing general health checks, Jayapura TP-PKK also paid special attention to pregnant women. This group received intervention in the form of maternity aid packages containing baby clothes and equipment, nutritious food intake, and blood-boosting vitamins to ensure the health of both mother and fetus remains optimal ahead of labor.

This initiative received a positive response from local authorities. Head of West Sentani District, Hawa Paula Yaboisembut, A.Md., expressed deep appreciation for the cross-sector collaboration involving TP-PKK, the Health Office, and the local community health center (puskesmas). According to her, this program greatly eases the burden on residents who need nearby access to medical services.

Closing the event, Hawa Paula hoped that this strategic partnership could continue sustainably. Strong synergy is expected to expand the reach of health service programs to remote villages in the future.
