The Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) of Cianjur Regency is paying serious attention to various health service obstacles often complained about by the public. Commission IV of the DPRD urges immediate improvements regarding the accumulation of patients in hospital Emergency Departments (IGD), the optimization of facilities at community health centers (puskesmas), and the resolution of issues surrounding inactive BPJS Kesehatan membership for citizens.
Chairman of Commission IV of the Cianjur DPRD, Rian Purwa Wiwitan, revealed that complaints regarding access and health facilities continue to flow from residents. His team is currently coordinating intensively with the Health Office, hospital management, and puskesmas to formulate concrete solutions to unravel the chaotic services so that the public receives equal medical rights regardless of social status.
As a solution, Commission IV is pushing for the acceleration of the digitalization of an integrated health referral system across the Cianjur region. Through this technology, the referral system is expected to run more efficiently so that patients with mild symptoms can be handled optimally at the puskesmas level first, while also providing transparent information on room availability to the public.
On the other hand, Rian also emphasized the importance of maintaining the health sector budget allocation amidst regional efficiency policies. According to the legislator, budget cuts should not target crucial posts such as medical facilities and infrastructure. Instead, budget efficiency must be focused on the regional government's consumptive spending, such as ceremonial activities, procurement of official uniforms, and meeting consumption costs.
Currently, the DPRD together with the Cianjur Regency Government are drafting the budget amendment and the pure APBD for the 2027 fiscal year. Commission IV is committed to continuing to oversee strategic programs that directly impact public welfare and health quality improvement so they remain a top funding priority.
