The National Sports Teachers Association (IGORNAS) of Sukabumi City successfully organized a fun walk event titled "Ngasruk Bareng Wali Kota" (Trekking with the Mayor) in the Selabintana area on July 25, 2026. In addition to strengthening ties among members, this agenda serves as an important momentum to campaign for an active and healthy lifestyle in the community.
During the event, which covered a route of 7 kilometers, the Mayor of Sukabumi, Ayep Zaki, emphasized the importance of close collaboration between IGORNAS and the local government. The presence of this sports teacher professional organization is expected to be a main driving force in advancing the sports sector and boosting student-athlete achievements in the Sukabumi region.
The Chairman of IGORNAS Sukabumi City, Yosep Firdaus, appreciated the enthusiasm of the participants, which reached around 120 people. He stated that the positive response from the administrators and members provides additional energy for the organization to continue strengthening its existence in accordance with its professional competence.
Yosep added that this fun walk is the first step in a series of long-term collaborative programs with the city government. Going forward, IGORNAS is committed to designing various more innovative sports agendas to popularize sports and scout potential young athletes early on.
The event was also attended by several important local officials, including the Head of BKPSDM Taufiq Hidayah, the Head of the Education and Culture Office Novian Restiadi, the Chairman of KORMI Sukabumi City Indra Wiguna, and the Chairman of PGRI Sukabumi City Roni Abdurrahman. The presence of these figures reinforces the cross-sector commitment to supporting the advancement of sports in Sukabumi.
