The adventure touring motorcycle market in Indonesia has gained new momentum with the official launch of the Honda New NX500 by PT Astra Honda Motor (AHM). Carrying the 'Daily Crossover' concept, this big bike is designed to meet daily mobility needs as well as long-distance adventures by incorporating cutting-edge Honda E-Clutch technology.

President Director of AHM, Yuichi Shimizu, explained that the presence of the New NX500 is an answer to the growing interest of the Indonesian public in long-distance riding activities. The integration of a rugged design, modern transmission technology, and advanced connectivity features is expected to provide maximum comfort for riders across various road terrains in the country.

The main advantage of this motorcycle lies in the integration of the Honda E-Clutch system. This innovative technology works by automating clutch operation electronically when the motorcycle starts, shifts gears, or stops. This smart system helps reduce rider fatigue, especially in urban traffic conditions, without eliminating the option of manual clutch lever operation if needed at any time.

In terms of performance, Honda equips the New NX500 with a robust liquid-cooled 471cc Parallel Twin Cylinder DOHC engine. Paired with a PGM-FI fuel injection system and a six-speed transmission, this powerplant is capable of producing a maximum power of 37.1 kW at 8,500 rpm and a peak torque of 44.7 Nm at 6,500 rpm, delivering a powerful yet precise riding response.

Technology and safety are also major focus areas. The New NX500 is equipped with a 5-inch Full Color TFT instrument panel integrated with Honda RoadSync for smartphone connectivity, the Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC) traction control system, and the Emergency Stop Signal (ESS) feature. Riding stability is supported by Showa 41 mm SFF-BP Upside Down front suspension, a Showa Pro-Link monoshock at the rear, and a dual-channel ABS braking system.

Available in three premium color options—Pearl Horizon White, Graphite Black, and Mat Gunpowder Black Metallic—the Honda New NX500 is marketed through the Honda BigWing dealer network at a price of Rp230,000,000 On The Road (OTR) DKI Jakarta.
