Police officers from the Badung Police have tightened security in the Canggu tourist area, Badung Regency, particularly along the road leading to Batu Bolong Beach. This preventive measure was taken to anticipate potential disturbances to public order and security (kamtibmas) amid the high mobility of domestic and international tourists who are active until the early hours of the morning.
Through the Turjawali Unit of the Samapta Patrol Unit, the police corps conducted a Blue Light Patrol as part of the Enhanced Routine Activities (KRYD) on Thursday (30/7/2026) early morning. The patrol, led by Brigadier I Gede Pandu Arya Wirawan and Brigadier I Putu Gede Wawan Saputra, targeted several crime-prone spots for aggravated theft (curat), violent theft (curas), motor vehicle theft (curanmor), street harassment/thuggery, and other street crimes.
Not only patrolling in tactical vehicles, but officers also took a dialogic approach. They visited several nightlife centers to coordinate directly with internal security guards and local pecalang. This collaboration aims to strengthen early detection of potential security vulnerabilities in the popular tourist destination.
Badung Police Samapta Unit Chief, AKP Made Mangku Bunciana, representing the Badung Police Chief, AKBP Joseph Edward Purba, emphasized that the police presence on the ground aims to provide a real sense of security for the public and tourists. He urged business managers and community security elements to remain vigilant and actively collaborate to maintain peace in the area.
The Badung Police also reminded the public to use the free National Police Call Center 110 emergency hotline if they spot anything suspicious or require urgent police assistance. Throughout the patrol, the situation in the Canggu area was reported to be peaceful and stable, with no major incidents disrupting public order.
