PT Matahari Putra Prima Tbk (MPPA) recorded a positive trend in financial performance recovery throughout the first half of 2026. The retail issuer successfully posted an increase in net sales and significantly cut net losses compared to the same period in the previous year.
According to the latest financial performance report, MPPA's net sales crept up 3.9 percent year-on-year (yoy) to Rp4.005 trillion. In line with revenue growth, the company's gross profit also rose 5.2 percent to Rp699 billion, driven by product mix optimization, supply chain improvements, and more efficient operational cost management.
A significant leap was seen in operating profit, which jumped 74.4 percent to Rp17.5 billion. Meanwhile, the company also managed to reduce its net loss for the period by 41.3 percent to Rp33.1 billion, reflecting the effectiveness of the operational strategies currently implemented by the management.
To strengthen its business foundation, MPPA undertook several strategic corporate actions in April 2026. The company transferred the management of Toko Mama under PT Fortuna Optima Distribusi (FOD) to strengthen the community-based retail segment. In addition, MPPA acquired PT Sunshine Food International (SFI) and PT Prima Cipta Lestari (PCL) valued at Rp34 billion to expand its reach into the catering, restaurant, and ready-to-eat food sectors.
In addition to culinary expansion, the company continues to develop "Tomorrow World", an integrated shopping theme park concept that combines retail with community recreation. MPPA Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Adrian Suherman emphasized that this achievement is the result of consistent operational execution and diversification into new business lines, which are expected to continue strengthening the company's long-term financial performance.
