Commission I of the Pekanbaru City Council (DPRD), together with the Public Order Agency (Satpol PP), military (TNI), and police personnel, conducted a sudden inspection (sidak) of several nightlife entertainment centers early Thursday morning (9/7/2026). This step was taken as a proactive supervision effort regarding licensing legality, as well as to ensure operational compliance by the venue operators.
During the joint operation, the team targeted several strategic locations, including Gen Z Club, Empire 80 Lounge and KTV, and HW Live House. The Head of Pekanbaru Satpol PP, Desheriyanto, revealed that this sudden inspection aimed to maintain public order so that entertainment activities run smoothly without disturbing the comfort of the surrounding community.
Desheriyanto emphasized that his party shows zero tolerance for any form of violation, including drug trafficking and immoral acts. The management of the venues was urged to consistently comply with applicable regulations and maintain an orderly and safe operational environment for the surrounding area.
Echoing these sentiments, the Chairman of Commission I of the Pekanbaru City Council, Robin Eduar, emphasized the important role of operators in preventing narcotics abuse within their business premises. The legislature is committed to continuously monitoring all entertainment activities to ensure they remain in line with legal norms and public order in Pekanbaru City.
