The development of sport aviation in the Malang Raya region is showing a positive trend once again. Bromo Flying Club (BFC) has officially produced a new sport pilot who is projected to become a key regional athlete in the future.

This graduation was marked by the success of Ali, the second sport pilot from BFC, who successfully completed his maiden solo flight at Abdulrachman Saleh Air Force Base in Malang on Sunday (26/7/2026). Before being declared graduated, he had to undergo a series of intensive training, ranging from understanding aerodynamic theory and air navigation to direct flight practice under the supervision of senior instructors.

Bromo Flying Club Manager, Yudha Adhitama, revealed that the training program at his club is comprehensively designed. It focuses not only on the technical skills of flying an aircraft, but also on instilling discipline and the mentality of a professional athlete. The challenging mountainous airspace of Malang Raya also provides a unique advantage for graduates in mastering precision flight techniques.

Yudha added that the presence of this new sport pilot is a valuable asset for the Regional Aero Sport Federation of Indonesia (FASIDA) of East Java. They are expected to not only treat flying as a hobby, but to be able to develop into professional athletes ready to compete in various national and international championships while prioritizing the highest safety standards.
