Search efforts for two teenagers from Krinjing Hamlet, Krinjing Village, Wonosobo Regency, reported missing in the Mount Bismo area, have so far yielded no results. Hundreds of personnel from the joint SAR team, involving the military (TNI), police (Polri), and various volunteer organizations, continue to be deployed to sweep the entire mountain area.
Head of Wonosobo BPBD, Sumekto Hendro, revealed that the main obstacle in this operation is the lack of clues in the field. As of Thursday (9/7/2026) night, the team has not found any evidence or signs of the whereabouts of Arifin Nurohmat and Yufaidin. Although the forest vegetation condition is not considered too much of a hindrance, the absence of physical traces makes it difficult for the team to determine a search focus point.
The two teenagers were known to have left home since Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at around 1:00 PM WIB. At that time, they only said goodbye to go out and play without mentioning a specific destination. Based on residents' information, the two were briefly seen around the Kali Plolok Bridge before allegedly moving toward the forest area along the Sidongkal route, which directly borders the slopes of Mount Bismo.
Authorities confirmed that when leaving, both victims brought a black bag containing light snacks and a machete. After independent search efforts by local residents provided no clear leads, the operation has now been taken over by the joint SAR team with a more comprehensive sweep strategy. The search operation is planned to continue intensively until next Saturday.
