The enthusiasm of Banyumas Regency residents for access to quality healthcare was clearly evident during the Mobile Specialist Doctor (Speling) program held at NU Medika Cilongok Clinic on Saturday (4/7/2026). Hundreds of residents from various areas crowded the clinic premises starting from early morning to receive free medical examinations from specialist doctors.
Initiated by the Central Java Provincial Government, this activity involved synergy with medical personnel from Prof. Margono Soekarjo Regional General Hospital in Banyumas. The public had access to various healthcare services, ranging from general outpatient care, dental care, laboratory tests such as blood sugar and cholesterol, to chest X-ray facilities, which proved to be one of the most sought-after services by residents.
Deputy Governor of Central Java, Taj Yasin Maimoen, was present on-site to directly oversee the examinations while greeting the residents. During his review, he emphasized that the Speling program represents a concrete government commitment to bridging the gap in healthcare access by bringing services closer to the community at the sub-district level.
The program has proven to have a significant impact on family finances, as expressed by local resident Naimatul, who felt greatly assisted by the free X-ray service. The presence of this program is expected to offer an efficient solution for residents in need of specialized medical care without having to travel long distances to central hospitals.
As of mid-2026, the Central Java Health Office recorded the program's success across 1,320 implementations in various remote parts of the region. With over 100,000 total beneficiaries, the government is committed to continuously enhancing the facilities and infrastructure of partner clinics to further optimize public health services.
