The Mayor of Denpasar, I Gusti Ngurah Jaya Negara, attended a series of religious ceremonies (karya) including Ngenteg Linggih Padudusan, Mupuk Pedagingan, Tawur Wrespati Kalpa Agung, and Panilapatian Pegat Soot at Gunung Sari Temple, Banjar Jurang Asri, Peraupan Traditional Village, North Denpasar. The sacred ceremony, coinciding with the auspicious day of Purnama Sasih Karo (full moon), was held as a gesture of gratitude after the restoration of several shrines (palinggih) in the temple was completed.
During his visit, Mayor Jaya Negara performed the "mendem pedagingan" (enshrining sacred offerings) ritual in the bale gedong area, signed the inauguration plaque, and handed over a donation (dana punia) to the local committee. The leader of Denpasar was accompanied by Bali Provincial Parliament Member I Gusti Ngurah Gede Marhaendra Jaya, Chairman of Commission II of the Denpasar City Council I Wayan Sutama, and other regional officials.
In the midst of the traditional proceedings, Mayor Jaya Negara expressed his appreciation for the independence and unity of the residents in preserving their traditions. He emphasized that this ceremony is not just a religious ritual, but also an important momentum to strengthen the "sradha bhakti" (faith and devotion) of Hindus to Ida Sang Hyang Widi Wasa (God Almighty).
"The Denpasar City Government always supports community empowerment based on religious and cultural values. Through the concepts of Tri Guna Karya and Satwika Karya, we hope this yadnya (sacred ritual) radiates positive energy to neutralize negative influences, while strengthening the bonds of brotherhood and unity among residents," said Jaya Negara.
Meanwhile, the Chairperson of the Ceremony Committee, I Made Sueca, explained that the series of sacred rituals is scheduled to reach its peak on August 5. The main ceremony will be officiated (dipuput) by Ida Peranda Mpu Nabe Yoga Daksa Paramitha from Griya Peraupan. Sueca also expressed his gratitude for the presence, as well as the moral and material support, from the Denpasar City Government to ensure the smooth running of the ceremony.
